Expansion of the fleet of Volvo 460 Euro 6 “Ecological” trucks
Our truck fleet has been expanded with two new Volvo 460 EURO 6 models. These vehicles have special features: The emission of nitrogen oxide is reduced by 77%, and the emission of particles by 50%. The Volvo FH has a new Euro 6 engine with 460 HP, optimised to offer effective and fast transportation, and low consumption on highways.
To meet the new emission standards, it is also using exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), as well as a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
The SCR system, which converts harmful nitrogen oxide exhaust gases into harmless nitrogen and water vapor, is integrated with the particulate filter in a compact unit that takes up minimal space.
The particulate filter, which captures and incinerates the microscopic particles found in the exhaust gases, regenerates automatically during the operation of the truck.
Unlike the conventional EGR systems that cool the recirculated exhaust gases to reduce the temperature of the engine and reduce the emission of nitrogen oxide, the EGR system of the Euro 6 engine is practically inactive during highway driving, so it does not affect the fuel consumption during this operation.
